ABOUT US

A Bit of Background

The Carlsbad Literacy Program (CLP) is a non-profit organization of trained volunteers committed to advancing literacy and language in Eddy County, which includes Carlsbad, Artesia, Loving and surrounding areas. Its purpose is exclusively to provide free quality instruction in reading proficiency, English as a second language skills (ESL), High School Equivalency (HSE) preparation, Citizenship Test Preparation and basic computer literacy. The program was founded in 1985 and has continued to try and advance literacy within our community.
